The Cast On

Well 2011 is (was) going to the mark the year to learn to knit... BUT I could not wait...
I received a RAK book called stitch and bitch and I started reading , which in turn, fueled my wanting to knit even more so I picked up some knitting needles and gave it a try... So far I have learned a few things:
1) I'm a English style knitter
2) My grandmother taught me the knit stitch

So I know how to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch and bind off.... Now just to prefect these stitches a bit more and then I'll attempt a easy pattern...
Here are some pictures of my first attempts

Picture one: my knit stitch

This 2nd picture is my purl stitches.. as you can see I got off track when the baby woke up from his nap and I set this down but I was quickly able to get back on track...

finished cowl

Here is a picture of the finished cowl...
I started one before our vacation but I made a mistake in the pattern and forgot the twist.... because I'm not a ripper outter .. I just finished that one and made it a scarf and started over.. this was my 2nd attempt at the pattern and I was able to get the twist in it... Because I ran out of this yarn its a bit smaller then it should be but still nice...

Candy From Sweden

I was in a recent Candy swap.. My partner was from Sweden.. Check out some of the yummy candy that was sent to me and some really great sock yarn too!!!!!!!!

cowl

Here is a project I am working on... the Icelandic Cowl.. I am using some wonderful knit picks yarn I was gifted called  Palette in Edamame and Forest Heather.. This is a fingering weight yarn.. It seems very thin and delicate to use but the end product is turning out wonderful.. Just wanted to give a quick update before we head off to Disney... This is my airplane project... If there is any crafting time to be had...
You can buy this pattern here /icelandic-cowl
