Neck Warmer

Here is a very quick Neck Warmer I made for my sister.. I used a single crochet foundation row and then switched off between single crochet and double crochet.. I used malabrigo aquarella wool.. It was amazing to work with.. I loved how it turned out and would not mind picking up some more to play with...

EASY DOES IT SOCKS #2 attempt

Well I finished 1 Easy Does it sock and started the 2nd sock and I could not get the tension the same AT ALL.. so I ripped the whole sock out and started over from scratch.. This 2nd atempted I crocheted both socks at the same time using 2 different balls of yarn.. The results I love.. The tension and size is the same on both socks.. It only took me 6 days to complete these socks.. Not bad I think ..

The Cast On

Well 2011 is (was) going to the mark the year to learn to knit... BUT I could not wait...
I received a RAK book called stitch and bitch and I started reading , which in turn, fueled my wanting to knit even more so I picked up some knitting needles and gave it a try... So far I have learned a few things:
1) I'm a English style knitter
2) My grandmother taught me the knit stitch

So I know how to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch and bind off.... Now just to prefect these stitches a bit more and then I'll attempt a easy pattern...
Here are some pictures of my first attempts

Picture one: my knit stitch

This 2nd picture is my purl stitches.. as you can see I got off track when the baby woke up from his nap and I set this down but I was quickly able to get back on track...

I just finished that one and made it a scarf and started over.. this was my 2nd attempt at the pattern and I was able to get the twist in it... Because I ran out of this yarn its a bit smaller then it should be but still nice...

Caribbean swap for Keegan

My first square swap was the Caribbean themed swap on the vanna fan board.. We exchanged 9 inch squares... I've taken the squares and stitched them together with a single crochet. I've then boardered them with a single crochet, a round of double crochet skipping one stitch every 3, then a round of single crochet and a double crochet every 3rd stitched and then the final round was single crochet... This blanket is for Keegan
I'm really pleased how this turned out...

Not In love at all

Well Many many months ago I feel in love with this car coat pattern... I really really loved it and wanted to make it for myself.. I bought the book with the pattern in it.. For you and your home, Vanna's choice and I bought the yarn.. 9 skeins of lion brand thick and quick wool ease yarn at $70.00 and have been saving it for some time now.. I finally took the time to make the coast since it is getting cold here... It did work up quick and I followed the pattern to a T.. but in the end I do not like it at all.. There is too much yarn under the arm pit and it bunches up when your arms are at your side.. its very very heavy and wold be warm but heavy on your body.... ohh well.. lesson learned!!!
